GIVEAWAY DAY!!

Welcome, if you're here from Sew, Mama, Sew!  I am so excited to be participating in the giveaway day this year!

I need to set aside some time for myself to browse all of the great giveaways!

My giveaway is a great lot of vintage doilies and lace.  I found them at various local estate sales.

  1. I love lace - I have a lot of vintage lace that my grandmother and her sisters hand stiched.

    I have other that I use as runners, etc. If I were to make something it would be jewelry, a pillow or case of some sort.

  17. REALLY?! I have some doily crafts bookmarked. I think it would be nicer to use someone else's old doilies for them rather than my G-MILs old ones. Yeah, my husband would be happier about that I think.

  74. I'm new to this whole blogging thing so this giveaway event has been a great opportunity for me to find great sites like this. And to see vintage doilies is super exciting for me. I've been collecting vintage hankies and these would coordinate so beautifully with the projects that are floating around in my head. Maybe you can help with something. How do you find the nerve to take a beautiful vintage piece and cut, or embellish or sew on it? Every I try I tell myself that I'm giving these treasures new life and they're certainly doing no good sitting in the drawer. Then I say, "but they're so pretty! How can I change it?" :-) Many thanks!!

  98. i love doilies so much! i like to dye them different colours and applique them onto things. i always think about the women who made them, how much time and effort and love they gave, so i like to bring them into my world and put them to use, kind of in a way to honour their efforts.
